Physician Assistant General Surgery

Primary Responsibilities:
– Provide first assist support during a range of surgical procedures.
– Deliver integrated care, observing patients before and after surgery, ensuring thorough assessments and coordinated care plans.
– Conduct detailed patient evaluations, capturing histories, physical exams, and perioperative information.
– Collaborate closely with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
– Perform key bedside procedures, such as suturing and removal of drains and staples.
– Educate patients and their families, clarifying surgical processes and recovery steps.
– Maintain meticulous documentation in the electronic health record system.
– Lead and participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing patient safety and refining healthcare processes.
Qualifications:
– Graduate from an accredited PA program with certification.
– Possess or obtain an active Alabama PA license, alongside BLS and ACLS certifications.
– Demonstrable proficiency in surgical assisting with strong procedural skills.
