Manufacturing Engineer Automotive

Location: Greenville, South Carolina

**Key Responsibilities:**
– Innovate and define manufacturing processes for new product lines.
– Oversee the specification and acquisition of state-of-the-art manufacturing machinery and tools.
– Design process workflows and set performance metrics to optimize production.
– Conduct comprehensive Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) to ensure quality and reliability.
– Lead cost analysis initiatives to streamline manufacturing expenditures.
– Collaborate with stakeholders to assess ‘make or buy’ strategies for parts production.
– Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to refine processes and reduce production costs.
– Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges related to process efficiency and equipment optimization.
– Facilitate the smooth transition of products from the development phase to full-scale production.
– Develop and roll out training programs for manufacturing and maintenance teams.
– Formulate and implement preventive maintenance protocols and metrics.

**Physical and Communication Requirements:**
– Flexibility to work from office desks or production floor stations.
– Proficient in report reading and reporting both verbally and via documentation.
– Capacity to engage in telephone and computer-based communication efficiently.
– Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extensive periods during work hours and lift up to 20 lbs frequently as needed.

**Qualifications:**
– A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
– Experience working within Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive settings is preferred.
– Strong written and oral communication abilities.
– Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and CAD software like AutoCAD, ProEngineer, SolidWorks.
– Demonstrated experience in crafting tooling and equipment specifications and managing vendor relations.
– Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other problem-solving tools.
– Proven success in managing projects with precision in timelines and budgeting.
– Working knowledge of TS16949 standards.
